This interactive lecture course is designed to teach the Dental
Assistant the origin of raw gypsum and the science behind the
manufacturing process and gypsums behavior as it relates to the
assistant’s use in the clinical setting. We will cover impression
troubleshooting prior to pouring models and correct pouring technique.
Assistants will learn communication skills with the Dental Laboratory,
the importance of their role in impression triage and producing accurate
model work, with its correlation to the delivery of reconstructive
prosthetics to the patient.

Craig A. Pickett, RG, CDT, is NBC certified in Crown & Bridge with
Technologist designation. He is a Recognized Graduate of Diablo Valley
College in Dental Technology and is currently attending Brigham Young
University.
Obtaining Accurate Alginate and Model Pouring
Techniques
Sarah E. Conroy, RDH, DDS Learn the latest information and
techniques for producing excellent alginate impressions and pouring
models. Patient preparation, tray selection, adhesives, mixing, seating,
removal, inspection, and model pouring will be covered. You name it;
you’ll learn it in this participation course.

Dr. Sarah Conroy, RDH, DDS, practices general dentistry in
Columbus, Ohio. She received her RDH and DDS from Ohio State. She was
faculty and Clinical Director for a dental hygiene program and lectures
nationwide. |
